Is there a word for that like, “bright darkness” you get in winter?? When it’s been snowing or it’s supposed to snow past sunset and the sky isn’t Dark Enough. One of my favorite things

Thanks to @raindropwindow and a handful of articles, it’s called snow albedo, skyglow, snowglow, or just light scattering! It’s the result of moon- or artificial light reflecting off ground snow, low clouds, or ice crystals.

So, apparently, people with autism have really really bad emotion regulators... Like that mechanism is a wee bit broken.

An NTs emotion line will look like this :

1--2--3--4--5--6--7--8--9--10

Whilst those of us on the spectrum are more:

1--2--3--8--9--10

We have next to no middle ground for our emotions. So we're prone to outbursts or sudden euphoria.

So if you're like me and always wondered why you seem to experience emotions on such an huge scale... This may be why.

Add our difficulty in understanding our own emotions... You end up with someone who can't comprehend their own feelings at all.

Hey, PSA:

On your phone, go to Settings> Security and Privacy> Privacy> Other Privacy Settings> Ads> Delete Advertising ID

Then go back to Other Privacy Settings> Google location history> Turn off Location History &/or Turn-on Auto-Delete (you can set a time period of how long to keep it)

Then, staying on Other Privacy Settings, go to '+ See all activity controls'> Web & App activity> Turn off (you can also turn-on Auto-Delete for here too)

Then Scroll down to Personalized ads> My Ad Center> Turn Off Personalized Ads.

Google has no business knowing/storing everything you do online, and knowing/storing where you go everyday. Turn it off.

These instructions are for an Android phone, IOS might be different. If you have IOS or another operating system feel free to add on with your own map to where they've buried these settings in your phone to help others.

okay, so after a few minutes my reaction feels a little mean given that there are many new users these days. already blocked anon (rip), but i want to point something out.

asking people you follow to not post xyz is a nasty tumblr faux pas. if you follow someone and they get In A Mood about content you don't care for you:

  • ignore it
  • embrace it
  • block tags and/or keywords
  • unfollow them WITHOUT comment

this is my actual personal blog. there is no theme or mission statement. i have a number of interests and can merely follow the inscrutable exhortations of my soul.

what IS Good Tumblr Etiquette is asking people to tag for certain things and respecting their answer.

from me, the answer is usually "probably not, my blog is an adhd stream of consciousness and i have next to 0 triggers." BUT, especially if i'm spamming or live reacting, i can make the effort.

like if anon had said "can you please tag toshiro mifune?" i would have been like "oh, no problem, i'm obsessed with him this morning." but the ask was phrased in an unnecessarily dickish way by tumblr standards.

I think it was phrased in a dickish way by any standards personally but this is a nice additional note to the original ask.
